another freebie booklet this time about cancer
Produced jointly by the BBC and Macmillan Cancer Relief.

Horrific to think that 1 in 3 of us will develop cancer at some point. I have an uncle who died this year of liver cancer, my friend’s mum died of cancer earlier this year, and another friend’s mum is ill at the moment.

BBC NEWS | UK | Revellers shun ‘rip off’ New Year
Too right! The price of a taxi home is astronomical!
We’re not going out to celebrate the new year. Don’t see the point in blowing a load of cash on getting very drunk and staying up late. Must be a sign of getting old.

If you’re going to stay in you could donate a tenner to the quake/tsunami appeal. (Link here to loads of places accepting donations online)

I think for a lot of people the cost of the new years eve is just too prohibitive. I’m sure it never used to be this dear before the 1999 new years eve when the world seemed to go mad about how much it was ok to spend on one night.

Fireworks? You having some? Think of your neighbours before you do. Do they have young children who’ll get woken up? Pets who’ll be terrified?
Oh yes I’m in fine kill-joy mode tonight.

Someone told me tonight you have to book time if you want to ring australia tomorrow night! Gets a bit busy apparently!
